By the way, the National Lampoon has passed through a variety of owners since its (very funny) early days, becoming less funny with each change in ownership. It appears to have reached bottom with this production. Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2005 Verified Purchase I actually picked up this and Lost Reality II based on a video posted on This video would be best described as "infantile humor". The video leaves you wondering if this is really happening or if it's all made up. Either way, I still had a good time watching it. I even brought one of the videos to work and everyone was laughing at it. If you are a fan of CKY, Jackass or Punked, you will like this video. Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2005 Verified Purchase Reality TV scrapes the bottom of the barrel but this show makes most look like MASTERPIECE THEATER. I'm not sure how to take this. It is presented as a series of pilots for reality shows that never made it. I find it hard to believe that anyone could really come up with these plot lines but then I see what actually does make it to TV and I despair.
If I were asked what image dominates "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, " the honest answer would have to be: Dolly Parton 's plunging neckline. I am not trying to be cute. The awesome swell of her wondrous bosom dominates every scene Dolly appears in, and that includes just about every scene in the movie. W. C. Fields, the old scene-stealer, rebelled against appearing on screen with an animal, a child, or a plunging neckline, on the not unreasonable grounds that audiences would not be looking at him. Fields could have appeared incognito in "Whorehouse, " as, indeed, Burt Reynolds occasionally does. The puzzling thing about the Parton decolletage is that so little is made of so much. You'd think there would be sizzling chemistry between Parton and Reynolds, who are two of my favorite movie sex symbols simply because they always seem so full of good cheer. But that isn't the case here. They're great looking, they smile a lot, they've been provided with good dialogue, but somehow they seem a little bored with each other, as if their affair has been going on a little too long; they're a happy old cheatin' couple.
