Mathematrix is a student-led group in the Mathematical Institute where postgraduates, postdocs and staff discuss and explore topics related to challenges in academic life and being a minority in the maths community. Mathematrix hosts weekly discussions during term-time. The events are relaxed and informal, and people may come and go as they please. We usually meet on MS Teams on Mondays 1-2pm, please check our term card below for exceptions. To join us, please subscribe to our mailing list by sending a blank email to mathematrix-discuss-subscribe at We would be very happy to receive your suggestions, which can be left anonymously at. These will happen from 15:00-15:30 on Thursdays of Weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8, as a chance to get to know others in and around the department, who you may not otherwise get the chance to meet.
